My Best, Always, Everywhere

First of all we learned about colour.  We discussed what colours we considered to be warm and cool, then we learned that opposite colours on the colour wheel are contrasting colours and are often effective when used together. We then used a range of different coloured paper and created little colour swatches in our sketchbooks, experimenting with a variety of colour combinations. The children chose up to 4 colours together.

Once we had decided on our favourite colour combinations, we chose 4 colours and painted four pieces of A5 paper with our chosen colours.  We then had a look at some examples of Eloise Renouf’s designs and discussed what backgrounds we could see.

We chose the size of paper/card/coloured card we wanted to use and then decided whether we were going to leave them plain/paint one colour or in two halves.
